STRIVE Children and Young Peoples Forum 2nd April 10am – 12, STRIVE, 56 High Street, Tranent, EH33 1HH
Hannah McCulloch of the Improvement Service will be giving a presentation on the local Child Poverty Action Plans, The Child Poverty (Scotland) Act 2017 places a duty on local authorities and regional health boards in Scotland to produce annual Local Child Poverty Action Reports (LCPARs) describing ongoing and planned action to tackle child poverty at local level. The national guidance suggests that the LCPARs be developed collaboratively with local partners and that they bring about a ‘step change’ in action to tackle child poverty. It is expected that the first round of LCPARs will be submitted to the Scottish Government by the end of June 2019.
Rebecca Spillane from East Lothian Council will also be attending to provide input on the development of the East Lothian Child Poverty Action Plan.
We will also have Mike Rogers, Service and Practice Development Officer attending to answer any questions around the current scoping exercise he is carrying out across organisations.
